Homecoming at The Gilbert School is more than a football game—it is an opportunity for
alumni, students, families, and friends to come together, reconnect, and celebrate what it means
to be a Yellowjacket.

Friday, October 9: Distinguished Alumni Awards

Homecoming Weekend kicks off on Friday, October 9 at 6:00 p.m. with the revitalized
Distinguished Alumni Awards Program in the Edward F. Keeley Memorial Auditorium.
We are proud to recognize the inaugural class of inductees under the revitalized program:

•  Michele Boutin Cousins ’99 – Heritage & Legacy Award
•  Raegan Horvay ’95 – Outstanding Community Service Award
•  John Adam Groth ’06 – Athletic Hall of Fame
•  Darek Schibi ’99 – Athletic Hall of Fame
•  Devin Schibi ’02 – Athletic Hall of Fame
•  1986 State Champion Women’s Volleyball Team – Athletic Hall of Fame
•  2000 State Champion Women’s Volleyball Team – Athletic Hall of Fame

The evening will celebrate the accomplishments, service, and lasting impact of these
Yellowjackets while officially beginning a weekend dedicated to Gilbert pride and tradition.

Saturday, October 10: A Full Day on Campus

The celebration continues on Saturday, October 10, with activities taking place throughout
campus and plenty of opportunities for alumni to reconnect with Gilbert.

The morning gets underway at 8:00 a.m. with Alumni Soccer and Volleyball Games, followed by
the Alumni Basketball Game at 9:00 a.m. Alumni check-in also begins at 9:00 a.m., along with a
continental breakfast, campus tours, and opportunities to reconnect with classmates, former
teachers, and friends.

Throughout the morning, guests can explore an Alumni Archive Display, visit the School Store,
view work from Gilbert’s Art Department, and stop by the Alumni Author Display. In addition, guests may visit the newly planted memorial tree, donated by the Class of '76 near the football field. At 10:00a.m., Gilbert students will take the stage in the Edward F. Keeley Memorial Auditorium for a
special Homecoming concert.

One of the weekend’s most meaningful moments will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the
dedication of the John Adam Groth ’06 Memorial Gymnasium. The Gilbert community will
come together to honor John’s legacy and celebrate the lasting impact he continues to have on his
school and community.

As the afternoon approaches, alumni will once again become part of the Homecoming action.
The Alumni Pep Band will gather at noon before joining the Yellowjacket Marching Band in the
stands, while Alumni Cheerleaders will cheer alongside the GNH Cheerleaders during the first
half of the football game.

At 1:00 p.m., the Yellowjackets take the field for the 2026 Homecoming Football Game.
Halftime festivities will feature alumni cheerleaders, the Yellowjacket Marching Band
performing its 2026 field show and the announcement of the 2026 Homecoming Court.

Whether you graduated five years ago or fifty years ago, Homecoming Weekend is your
opportunity to come back to Gilbert, reconnect with classmates and friends, see what is
happening on campus today, and celebrate the traditions that connect generations of
Yellowjackets.

Come home to Gilbert this October.
