Blue and Gold Celebration
Blue and Gold Celebration
On Friday, May 5, 2023 over 100 alumni and friends gathered at The Gilbert School to honor our newest Golden Graduates -- the Classes of 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973.
Our alumni enjoyed socializing and catching up with old friends while being treated to some delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts, including sandwiches made on mini versions of the famous Gilbert rolls!
The evening included a warm welcome and remarks by emcee Craig Schroeder, Trustee and long-time Gilbert faculty member. Our alumni listened to some insights on how The Gilbert School has changed and evolved by Chick Seaback, Class of 1972 and President of The W. L. Gilbert Trust, Greg Shugrue, Head of School at The Gilbert School, Tim Cronin, CEO of The W. L. Gilbert Trust, and Don Crossman, Class of 1999, Trustee and Associate Principal
Our alumni were treated to the time and talents of some Gilbert Class of 2023 Students. Greyson Ursone and Illiana Martinez spoke about what their time at The Gilbert School has meant to them and how it has prepared them for a bright future. The entertaining program continued with some selections by talented music students Tim Crandall and Eric Pelletier, also Class of 2023 students.
There was special recognition of each of our golden graduates by Holly Marchand Cassaday, Class of 1990, Trustee, and Chair of the W. L. Gilbert School Corporation. Class photographs were taken of each 50th reunion class.
Guests enjoyed a slide show with memories of their years at Gilbert, created and edited by Jeb Leach, Class of 2023 and our Technology Education teacher, Steve Hodges.
Self-guided school tours were available to anyone who chose to roam the halls, check out their old classrooms, view the brand new state-of-the art television studio, visit the beautiful library media center, enjoy the displays of student art work, and relive the memories of their old stomping ground.
We enjoyed gathering with our very special graduates and hope to welcome all of our golden graduates from 1974 and earlier next spring to honor the Class of 1974 and celebrate together at our 2024 Blue and Gold Celebration!
