David Rutherford English Language Instructor

David Rutherford has over eighteen years of experience teaching English to diverse student populations at the university and high school levels. He has worked as the coordinator of a community college ELL program in Connecticut and as an Associate Professor of English at a university in Japan. David has a Master's degree in TESOL and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology.

David manages the day-to-day operations of the ELL program at The Gilbert School and develops and implements curriculum, teaches all levels and skills of ELL, and is the liaison between the International Program and The Gilbert School's faculty and staff. He and his wife, Cristina, have both been Residential Coordinators since the inception of the international program in 2013. They live in the Residency Hall dorm that sits on the schools beautiful 120-acre campus along with other Residential Coordinators who oversee the safety and guardianship of the international students for the entire school year.  Contact David at
