The Gilbert School offers both homestay family and dorm-style housing options for international residency students. The Dean of Student Life carefully screens homestay families and residential coordinators. They are friendly, caring individuals interested in supporting students in their education and also in sharing their cultural backgrounds. They provide a safe and stable environment in which students study, eat, sleep, and spend time with a traditional American family.
Boarding students and students living with a homestay family have full access to bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Many homes are within walking distance of the school. All homestay families and dorm-style homes offer wireless Internet access.
The Gilbert School strives to prepare students for a life at college, providing opportunities to develop personally, socially, and academically. The Gilbert School understands that a student’s education process does not end in the classroom. All international students benefit from weekend activities to enhance the experience of living in the United States. We offer events throughout the school year where students can truly enjoy an American experience and establish friendships for life.
